Swinburne Student Union (SSU) Students of Swinburne University of Technology may choose to join the Swinburne Student Union (SSU). Membership of the SSU is voluntary.The Swinburne Student Union is a separate legal entity from the Swinburne University of Technology and is an independent incorporated association. The SSU is governed by a Council of elected student representatives. The SSU seeks to provide a representative voice within the University for its members.  Swinburne Student Amenities Association (SSAA) The SSAA has been established by Swinburne University to provide a range of services to students of Swinburne University of Technology. These include a range of services previously provided by the SSU. Despite the recent Voluntary Student Union (VSU) legislation, Swinburne is committed to the on-going provision of services to students. SSAA is a wholly owned company of Swinburne University of Technology with student representation on its board. Its’ purpose is to secure the on-going provision and enhancement of quality services to students, in a transparent and cost effective way. These services include: - Orientation

- Independent advocacy
- Social and cultural activities
- Clubs and societies
- Student publications
- Night Bus
- Bike Sheds
